these photos are a pair...that is, i want them shown together. They are an example of my current studio project, an examination of expression of identity in adolescent students through costume and posing. The work involved photographing and editing over 900 photos of student posing at school on a friday before haloween. the students costumes and poses perhaps reveal glimpses of personality and identity that is not usually as vividly shown. the first photo of each pair is typically less posed and more awkward, while the second is a spontaneous pose.

ReplyDeleteIt is interesting to see the students caught candidily pre pose, and then again in the pose they choose to present. What a fun project!
